JUNE 18 & 19, 2021 | GRANT COUNTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Our History
The Moses Lake Airshow was created to help create awareness of the exceptional community and tourism surrounding Moses Lake, Washington. Situated in the midst of the Grant County International Airport, one of the largest airfields in the United States, Moses Lake is filled with incredible aviation history.
The very first Airshow began on June 14 & 15, 2019. The Airshow was proud to showcase aviation legends, including Vicky Benzing, Mini Jet Airshows, Alpha Jet, The Rock N Roll Airshow Man (Will Allen), Ken Hildebrandt, the United States Army Parachute Team (The Golden Knights), and Yellow Thunder.
After a successful first year, the Moses Lake Airshow began their planning of the second season with a whole new branding. Our new logo brought together the past, present, and future. It paid homage to local and international, military and civilian connections. The wings, found in military insignia, were placed as a nod of respect not only to our heritage but to our military partners, customers, and guests today. The center of the insignia shows a fire-breathing dragon after the lake for which the area is named, shaped like the lithe, the magical creature of the far east.
With the excitement of a new logo and a new website, we began to prepare for a fantastic new year! With big names returning such as Vicky Benzing and Mini Jet Airshows, and new names such as the Black Daggers and Go-EZ Aerosports, we were ready for a great second year for our show.
Due to COVID-19, the airshow was canceled and rescheduled for June 18 & 19, 2021 with a lot of the 2020 line up agreeing to come back!
In its place, Aviation Unfiltered- a six-episode Facebook live stream show – was created. With some of our favorite aviation legends, we dove deeper than ever before into the behind the scenes world of aviation! Such guests include Vicky Benzing, Tom Larkin, Jim Bourke, Sergeant First Class Shelby Bixler from the Black Daggers, Captain Kristin Wolfe of the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, and Maj. Joshua “Cabo” Gunderson of the USAF F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team.
