F8F “Bearcat” Flying Demo This Saturday!!!

October 3, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

The Grumman F8F “Bearcat” was designed as the ideal Naval aircraft of the Second World War – small, fast, and capable of inflicting great damage. But the war came to an end before it could go operational and with jet technology on the horizon, it quickly became a relic of a bygone era.
Now, after a meticulous restoration, Planes of Fame Air Museum presents the first public flight of this latest addition to our collection of rare and historic aircraft.
The Flying Demo presentation begins at 11:30am. Engine start and taxi at 11:45am. Pilot Steve Hinton will fly the “Bearcat” over the Museum for twenty minutes. The flight will be visible from anywhere on the Museum campus.

In order to ensure safe physical distancing of our guests during the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re limiting the number of guests to the Museum for the premiere Flying Demo of the Grumman F8F “Bearcat.”
To guarantee your entry, you must make a reservation. This applies to Members of the Museum as well as the general public. Members who have made a reservation and guests with a paid reservation may enter the Museum beginning at 9:00am.
To make your reservation, simply click here . Enter the number of guests in your party, and purchase your tickets in advance (Members simply need to enter their membership number). Our special “Outdoor Experience” pricing is in effect (Adults = $8.00, Children ages 5 to 11 = $4.00).
